ABOUT IOSIF IOSIFIDIS

Iosif Iosefidis

"Iosif Iosifidis was born in Alexandroupolis, in 1964. In 1988, he graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, receiving his Master of Arts in Conservation and Restoration. During his internship, he attended precious metals workshops, in metalsmithing and jewellery techniques.

In 1986, he revealed his first sterling silver jewellery creation. Two years later, he set up his first workshop in his hometown and was one of the first designers. He developed enamel jewellery, encompassing a wide range of colours and styles, and created the most distinctive pieces. Through the years, he gained knowledge and experience in designing and crafting precious metals. His handmade collections carry his own unique style, as he designs jewellery that adorns the body and empowers the mind.

 

Every piece celebrates the wearer’s unique essence. Through his creations, he inspires his customers to relish what is unique and authentic about themselves. His artistry lies in drawing out the beauty that resides within, that’s why every jewel of his is a wearable piece of art.

He lives and works in Thessaloniki, where he owns a jewellery store and a workshop. He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.

Timeline:

  • In 1997, he participated in an exhibition under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, at “Villa Bianca”, within the celebrations of “Thessaloniki – Cultural Capital of Europe”.

  • Since 1998, he becomes a member of Hellenic Union of Goldsmith and Silversmith.

  • In 1999 and 2003, he attended gemmology workshops.

  • In 1999, he is elected member of “Thessaloniki Goldsmith and Silversmith Association”. He served as Chairman, from 2002 to 2005.

  • In 2000, he opened the jewellery store “IOSIF” in the centre of Barcelona.

  • From 2004 to 2009, during the “Kosmima” international fair and in cooperation with Helexpo-TIF, he organised the exhibition “Expression and Design”, where, along with jewellery designers, he presented his own creations.

  • Since 2004, he has been one of the founders and members of JAW (Jewellery Art Workers).

  • In 2006, he opened the jewellery store “IOSIF” in the centre of Athens.

  • In 2007, he participates in JAW’s exhibition “Water”, Marneri Galerie, Athens.

  • In 2008, he participated in JAW’s exhibition “Water Travels”, in Bey Hamam, alternatively known as the “Baths of Paradise” Thessaloniki.

  • In 2008, he participated in the exhibition “Greek Jewellery”, in Athens Metro.

  • In 2009, he participated in the alliance of JAW’s exhibition “50 women – 50 Jewels” as part of the 50th Thessaloniki Film Festival, to honour actresses who were awarded the Best Actress Award.

  • In 2011, he participates in JAW’s exhibition “Drama and Jeweller”, at the Michael Cacoyiannis Foundation, Athens.

  • In 2016, he participated in the exhibition “New Territories”, by Ilias Lalaounis Museum, He takes part in the 1st Athens Jewellery Week, “Everything flows”, Ena Art Galerie. In 2017, he participated in the exhibition “Trinity Metallogues”, Marneri Galerie, Athens.

  • In 2019, he presented his latest collections «Percheron» & «Cabaret», in the 71st exhibition “ A-Ω”, MEC Paiania.

  • In 2019 he participated in 32η Athens International Jewellery Show /π 3, under the auspices of  CHEAPART, Anticlastics and ΟΖΟΝ, in Metropolitan Expo.

  • In 2019 IOSIF with his work Labyrinth’s Trap, is participating at the central exhibition titled “Art + Jewellery: Intersecting Spaces” at Benaki Museum, in the frame of Athens Jewellery Week 2019

  • “IOSIF” jewellery is available in selected stores and galleries throughout Greece and abroad."
